A relaxing weekend
I'm finally done all the sewing for my yoga friend/instructor. Yay! Thanks a big lot for my mom for helping me out with most of the sewing. Now I can relax and enjoy this weekend coming up. I can't wait to clean my sewing room and my craft table. Both are in such a horrid mess. It will be nice to be somewhat organized again. Maybe after I'll do a little bit of drawing and try out this beautiful, brand new, red box of Faber-Castell pencil crayons that Darcy bought me for Christmas. I've always wanted a set and am so excited to use them.

Gusto
You know when you read something that makes you stop , think, and feel fantastic. I had that when I read this article with David Suzuki from this month's issue of Synchronicity. This is my favorite part from the article,
"Whatever you do, do it with gusto. Don't do it in a sloppy, half-hearted way but enthusiastically, whether it's scrubbing the floors, picking cherries, or playing basketball. That's how you get the most out of life."
I love it. Thought I would pass it along!!

And a simple lily logo I did a while back for a friend's daughter.

Plastic zipper tote
A plastic zipper tote bag to add to the collection. I also recently created tags for them which are quite "whimsical". Darcy thinks "whimsical" is such a funny word, so I thought I needed to use it. Haha!

I'm off to Edmonton again. This time just me and my boys. Gives the chance for Darcy to clean out our basement without any distractions. We have a lot of garbage from the renovations we did this summer. It's quite the disaster zone. Thank goodness for closed doors.
Have a fantastic weekend!

Checkbook cover
Hope everyone enjoyed their family day long weekend. I know we sure did. After three weeks of being sick it was nice to have a weekend where we could actually go out as a family. We went to Edmonton to visit my family and our friends, did a little shopping, and ate at restaurants. Yay, a break from cooking! I am so glad the boys are healthy and back to normal.
Thought I would share this checkbook cover I made a few weeks ago. I saw a tutorial somewhere and thought I would give it a try since my checkbook cover was falling apart. Much better then that boring, blah, black plastic! I have to say it's pretty cute.

Still here
Just wanted to say hey and I'm still here. We are recuperating from the second bought of the stomach flu. The boys got it, Darcy, and then me. Phew! I need a vacation now. Hopefully this is definitely the last of it!!
Besides the flu, I am busy sewing some things for my yoga instructor friend. After all of this I hope to get back to my illustrations. It feels like ages since I last drew or painted, but I did manage to create this lotus flower design for a dear friend who recently been diagnosed with a malignant tumour behind her eye. It was part of a care package that some of us wanted to put together for her.

I can't wait to share many many things on here when I have the chance. Like a new serging machine!!! Yup, that's right. I gave in and bought myself a serger. I'm in love with it and I think Darcy is getting a little jealous. Haha!
